Primary consumer finance programs are designed to approve customers with average to good credit who typically have credit scores in the mid-600’s or above.

SUBPRIME 580-650

Subprime, or secondary consumer finance programs, are designed to approve marginal credit customers with credit scores between 580-650.

TERTIARY Below 580

Tertiary consumer finance programs usually sit behind primary and subprime programs and are designed to approve customers with credit scores below 600.

Tertiary programs are designed to approve applicants with challenging credit issues like delinquencies, charge offs, and judgments.

Tertiary consumer finance programs aren’t for every business. They almost always carry some sort of risk on the merchant’s part. However, if structured properly, the risk is calculated and minimal.

Tertiary programs allow for far more customization than primary and secondary programs and in some cases can allow for 100% credit acceptance.
